ABOUT EPIC WEEK
PART SEA OTTER. PART SEDONA. PART SXSW.
ATTAINABLE. AFFORDABLE. EFFECTIVE.
Who in the bike biz doesn’t need their dollars to go a little further this year? Epic Week represents the integration of the Breck Epic, the Breck Bike Week Expo & Demo, and a wide range programming designed to move our big beautiful magic bus forward.
It’s a gathering of the industry’s brands, ambassadors and thought leaders in a place with incredible riding, fantastic dining, and the world’s best cookies.
Uniquely Breck, Epic Week is an exercise in sustainability. It uses the ingredients at hand (content teams, historic venues, digital savvy, ridership & support teams, community buy-in) to create a vibrant, informative and entertaining week that blends DNA from the best events in the country.
STEWARDSHIP. SUSTAINABILITY. INCLUSION.
Epic Week’s message amplifies Breckenridge’s & Breck Epic’s shared values of stewardship, sustainability and inclusion. It’s an opportunity to bring the industry together where great riding, accommodations, food and entertainment are close at hand. It’s our job to make everyone welcome. And also to send them home enriched. With a bit of Breck in their hearts, and if we’re successful, a deeper appreciation for the natural world that surrounds them here in Colorado’s central Rockies.
To discuss our challenges. To celebrate our accomplishments. And to create programming that lays critical foundations for our industry’s newest members, creators and pros. And compelling programming for the rest of us dinosaurs.
IT’S ABOUT MORE THAN BIKES.
Epic Week is a meeting place. A gathering. Yes, it’s about things and stuff ‘cuz we’re all gear nerds at heart. But more importantly, it’s about community & connection. It’s an opportunity to talk and discuss. To celebrate. To break bread. To figure out how we progress and move forward.
PROGRAMMING
EPIC WEEK CONSUMER DEMO & EXPO
The foundation of Breck Bike Week. Demo, group rides, product trial, sampling, tech clinics, social functions, sweet jumps, and probably even a little local whiskey. In the heart of downtown Breck, a stone’s throw from dining, nightlife, coffee, and the world’s best cookies.
BRECK EPIC MTB STAGE RACE
Now in its 17th year, Epic brings 650 participants and over 2000 people to Breck for an entire week. Arriving from 24 countries and 42 states, this year’s field hosts the Breck Epic Women’s Tour and the newly launched U23/Jrs/High School Showcase.
RITUAL MTB FILM FESTIVAL
A celebration of the industry’s groundbreaking athletes and the creative minds who frame their accomplishments. Ritual’s Breck stop features a marquee venue at Breck’s amazing Riverwalk Center, right next to the expo.
EPIC WOMEN'S SUMMIT
Epic’s Women’s Summit features a women-focused programming slate covering maintenance, technology, and riding skills to help riders explore new terrain with confidence. The EWS features a wide variety of programming, all of it 100% free to attendees.
SPARK ORGANIC FIREWORKS SHOWS
NEW – Slated for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 9-11, Spark’s incredible take merges art, light and wonder for an experience that must be seen and felt to be believed. Want to find out more? Oh yes you do. Prepare to be amazified.
EPIC PODCAST & BROADCAST STUDIO
NEW – Located in the heart of the downtown venue, Epic’s Podcast & Broadcast Studio offers a plug-and-play space with power, staging and lighting. It can be booked by any attending brand, athlete or creator to allow them to broadcast directly from the venue. Look for product demos, race day updates, and good old fashing chirping.
EPIC CREATOR WORKSHOPS
Repurposing the collective experience of the Ritual Tour and Breck Epic content teams in a workshop environment. A how-to manual for young filmmakers, photographers and athlete ambassadors. Topics include filmmaking, photography and ambassadorship.
BRECK EPIC WOMEN’S TOUR
Women are kicking ass. BEWT is showcases that amazingness. Intended to provide compelling racing drama within a multi-day format, BEWT also tasks Epic’s photo & content teams with building professional-level content portfolios for each pro/elite athlete participant, ideal for future sponsorship discussions. The inaugural Breck Epic Women’s Tour hosted 61 Pro/Elite riders, making Epic ’24’s pro women’s field the largest ever in N. American mountain biking.
INTER-GALACTIC POND CROSSING
One very cold pond. One very long and skinny rail. Lots and lots of costumes. Speakers you can hug, bumping beats, & glory and bragging rights to the winner.
Come for the shenanigans. Stay for the heckling and musical stylings of el Paso Lasso at Ollie’s Pub, right in the middle of the dredge pond.
MEGA EPIC
Launched in 2024, MEGA EPIC asks the few, the hardy, the brave and the slightly insane to tackle ALL of Epic’s six courses back-to-back. There are longer rides out there…but there aren’t better ones. This year’s race is less bike-packy and more top-fuel drag racing with riders no allowed support teams in their pursuit of the official Breck Epic solo FKT.
U23 & JUNIORS SHOWCASE
NEW – A separate event just for neo-pros, the Epic Showcase provides these athletes with their own 3-day race that covers stages 2-4. The structure here is similar to the Women’s Tour – we want to give these riders a helping hand as they embark on their pro careers.
Showcase attendees will attend two seminars on site, each hosted by accomplished industry sports marketing heads. The first is titled Professional Expectations – Lessons for New Pros. It will deliver fantastic lessons in the transactional nature of their new career as well as some insights into longevity, professionalism and potential alternate paths.
The second required course is simply titled Media Training. This class helps young riders (and old – all are welcome) about how to interact with the press in an articulate, mature and engaging manner.
SHREDLY WOMEN'S LOUNGE
NEW – The brainchild of Shredly founder Ashley Rankin, the women’s lounge provides 400 square feet of comfy seating and refreshments for all three days of the expo.
The lounge will host women’s programming and also serve as a rallying point and base camp for all women-only group rides.
SO MUCH MORE!
Attendees can check out the latest and greatest bikes and products. They can join panels and presentations throughout the week. They can also ride with friends, attend a skills or tech clinic, or discover new trails on any one of several scheduled group rides.
